SCARBOROUGH, N.Y. - Erin Clasper heads into the second round of the U.S. Women's Amateur here today after shooting an opening score of 81 on Monday.

The 150-person field will be pared to the low 64 after Tuesday's action for match play beginning Wednesday.

Only seven individuals broke par at 6,190-yard Sleepy Hollow CC on Monday, including leader Courtney Swaim of Sugar Hill, Georgia, who fired a four-under 67. Clasper shot 39-42 for her 10-over score.

Clasper, of North Potomac, Md., is a senior-to-be on the Maryland women's golf team.
