
Terps Tied For Ninth Place After First Round In Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. - After one round of play at the Lady Kat Invitational the Terps are tied for ninth place with a combined score of 316. Tied with Arkansas, the team is a collective 28 strokes over par.
Junior Katie Redeker (Pepper Pike, Ohio) leads the Terps with a five-over-par 77 (38-39), leaving her tied for 28th place. Alex Casi (East Palestine, Ohio), the lone freshman on the team, is just one stroke behind with a 78 (37-41) and tied for 30th.
Junior Marie Harper (West Point, Va.) follows Casi by one stroke at 79 (38-41), while junior Kara Gropler (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) and senior captain Erin Clasper (North Patomac, Md.) both shot a 10-over-par 82.
The Terps are six strokes behind eighth-place South Florida and have a three-stroke lead over 11th-place Cal State-Northridge. Tennessee leads the 16-team field with a combined score of 280.
Play continues tomorrow for the second round on the par-72 Big Blue Course at the University Club of Kentucky.
