When we got to Atlanta on Thursday night, we were really impressed by our hotel when we walked in. We love the elevators, they're our favorite part. They are like the glass elevator in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." There is a lot going on this weekend in Atlanta, like the NC State vs. Georgia Tech football game, so a lot of people are around. We were excited to get down South to the warmer weather, us Texans and Californians aren't looking forward to the cold winter in College Park so it was nice to get down south.
Friday morning we got to sleep in and hang out, we did a lot of pregame stuff. We were very prepared and had a lot of time to think about our game vs. Georgia Tech, so when it was time to play we were really ready.
Their gym was really loud as always, but it's a fun place to play and we were able to feed off their fans. It was a really big challenge to open our ACC road schedule at Georgia Tech, but we rose to the challenge and proved ourselves last night. We proved we can hang with the best teams in the nation if we play our game and play well. We were disappointed to lose, of course, but they're a good team and we learned a lot and we can't wait to play them at our place.
Right now we're on the road heading to Clemson. Whenever we come down to play Georgia Tech and Clemson, there's always a lot of traveling involved - a lot of flying, driving and eating - we're good at eating.
Today is an even more important match than last night was. It would have been great to beat Georgia Tech last night but Clemson is a match we have to win. Everyone's as excited to play today as we were last night and we're ready to go out and get our first ACC win on the road.
Next week we get three home matches in a row next week (NC State, Florida State and North Carolina) so it will be nice to be home for awhile and go to a full week of classes....it's been awhile.
Peace out from ATL!
