COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland field hockey freshmen Brooke Johnson and Paula Infante were named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Tournament team, which was announced by the league offices.
Both defenders, Johnson (New Albury, South Wales, Australia) and Infante (Santiago, Chile) helped the Terps reach the semifinals of the ACC Tournament last weekend. In Maryland's 5-1 win against Virginia, the Terps limited the Cavaliers to just one goal and six shots for the game. In the semifinal against eventual ACC Champion Wake Forest, the Terp defense allowed just three Deacon penalty corners in the match.
In addition to her defensive efforts, Infante also scored a goal in the win over the Wahoo's. An All-ACC honoree, she is the team's leader with 41 points and shares the team lead with 17 goals.
The Terps await the announcement of the NCAA Tournament bracket. The sites and seedings will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m.
