
Maryland Cracks The Top 25 After Winning The ACC Championship

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland volleyball team (26-7) debuted as No. 25 in the latest USA TODAY/AVCA Coaches Poll, released today. The Terrapins won the ACC Championship Sunday, defeating then-No. 6 Georgia Tech for the third conference crown in school history.
Lynnsy Jones was named the ACC Tournament's Most Valuable Player after averaging 3.83 kills and 3.42 digs per game while hitting .248 in three matches. Jones posted 18 kills and 14 digs in the championship match to lead the second-seeded Terrapins to an upset of first-seeded Georgia Tech (26-30, 33-31, 30-27, 30-22).
Aimee Huddleston and Sarah Treadwell were also named to the all-tournament team and Saturday's 3-0 win over Clemson gave Janice Kruger her 302nd conference victory, the most ACC wins of any volleyball coach in ACC history.
As ACC Champions, the Terps earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. The bracket will be announced Sunday, Nov. 30, at 8 p.m.
