Sophomore Danielle Malagari concludes her daily journals from the ACC Tournament in Cary, N.C.
By Danielle Malagari
CARY, N.C
-- I sit at my dinner table in a bit of disbelief. From the first half of our game, if I were to guess who would have come out on top, it would have been us. With a couple of unlucky calls, though, it was Florida State who came out on top in our ACC semifinal tonight. It seems as if we just didn't have the legs for the whole 90 minutes.
We were hoping to win the game and maybe be in the running for hosting a home game at Ludwig Field for the NCAA Tournament. But ... there are still a bunch of tournaments going on so we will just wait to see who makes it on Monday afternoon. For those of you who do not know about the tournament show, the 64 teams will be announced on Monday afternoon on ESPNEWS between 3:30 and 4 p.m. So keep your fingers crossed for the Terps!
We are staying overnight here in Cary, so we will not start our journey back to Terpville until tomorrow morning.
We decided to go to a very nice restaurant, Winston's, in a town that was very far away from Cary - at least it took us a long time - maybe it was the loss that we were bitter about. But it took forever to get there. But once we got here, the food was excellent.
We can't wait to get back to our hotel - I got a new room tonight after we found a huge spider in our room. I will be sleeping very close to my roommate tonight since the beds are very close and to make sure there are no more insects around.
Overall, it was a nice trip, but we didn't come out on top, maybe next time. We still have he NCAA's to look forward to.
This is Danielle "Chunk" Malagari signing off from Cary, N.C., for the final time.
Good night and Go Terps!
