COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland sophomores Kimmy Francis (Richboro, Pa) and Mallory Mahar (Medina, Ohio) were named to the NSCAA/adidas All Mid-Atlantic Third Team. This marks the second straight year Mahar was honored by the national association.
Francis led the Terps in all offensive categories with nine goals, six assists and 24 points. She played in all 21 games, starting 20. She tallied a team-high four game-winning goals and scored the first goal in a game on three occasions. Francis was named to MVP of the Maryland/adidas Classic and named to the Soccer America and Soccer Buzz Teams of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal in the title-game win over Tennessee.
Mahar has started the final 13 games of the season and played in 20 after coming back from a torn ACL suffered in April. Mahar had 10 points on four goals and two assists. Mahar was also named to the All-ACC Second Team for the second year in a row.
