Women's Golf 16th After One Round At Edwin Watts

PINEHURST, N.C. - After one round at the Edwin Watts/Carolinas Collegiate Classic in Pinehurst, N.C., the Maryland women's golf team is in 16th place with a collective score of 337.
Junior Marie Harper (West Point, Va.) leads the Terps with a six-over-par 78, leaving her tied for 12th place and just one stroke from the top 10. Senior team captain Erin Clasper (North Potomac, Md.) fired an 85 and is tied for 72nd.
Junior Stacey Wolejko (Hatfield, Mass.) trails Clasper by one stroke after carding an 86 and is tied for 81st place, and senior Carter Crowther (Kilmarnock, Va.) is just two strokes behind with an 88, leaving her tied for 91st. With a first-round 90, junior Katie Redeker (Pepper Pike, Ohio) is tied for 100th.
The Terps are three strokes behind 15th-place Coastal Carolina and just one stroke ahead of 17th-place Notre Dame and Wofford. Jacksonville State leads the 20-team field with a collective score of 309. Host College of Charleston is tied for sixth place with Memphis.
Play continues tomorrow with the second round on the par-72 Pinehurst No. 8.
