GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Maryland women's golf team is tied for eighth place after round one of the Bradford Creek Women's Intercollegiate with a collective score of 315. After rain washed out the first 18 holes of the tournament, the Terps are tied with UNC-Greensboro.

With a five-over-par 77, senior Erin Clasper (North Potomac, Md.) is tied for 23rd place to lead the Terps. On pace for par after the first nine holes with a 36, Clasper fired a 41 on the back nine. She is just one stroke from the top 20.

Senior Carter Crowther (Kilmarnock, Va.) and junior Marie Harper (West Point, Va.) are just one stroke behind Clasper in a tie for 28th place with scores of 78. Crowther and Harper each fired a 37 on the front nine before wrapping up the day with a 41 on the back nine.

Junior Stacey Wolejko (Hatfield, Mass.) and sophomore Kristen Shew (Hockessin, Del.) each carded an 82 and are tied for 49th place.

The Terps are three strokes behind Elon and three strokes ahead of East Tennessee State. Host East Carolina leads the 15-team field with a combined score of 287. With scores of two-under-par 70, individual first place belongs to Aubrey Mosley of Newberry College, Heidi Helliesen of East Carolina and Ashley Hovda of Western Carolina.

Play concludes Sunday.
