Women's Golfers Finish Sixth At ACC's

CLEMMONS, N.C. - The Maryland women's golf team carded its second 306 in as many days and finished sixth at the ACC Championship with a three-round total of 939.
Senior Carter Crowther (Kilmarnock, Va.) paced the Terps in her final collegiate tournament, placing 17th with a 17-over-par 230. For the second straight day, she carded a 76, five over par.
Sophomore Kristen Shew (Hockessin, Del.) tied for 21st place with a 23-over-par 236. Like Crowther, Shew matched her second-round score with a six-over-par 77 in round three. Senior Erin Clasper (North Potomac, Md.) closed out her collegiate career with a 25-over-par 238, leaving her tied for 24th place. Her final-round 78 (seven over par) was a three-stroke improvement from her score on day two.
Junior Marie Harper (West Point, Va.) carded a four-over-par 75 in the third round and finished in 27th place with a three-day total of 240. Harper saw an improvement in each round of play: after shooting an 88 in the first round, she fired a 77 in round two before finishing with a third-round 75. Junior Stacey Wolejko (Hatfield, Mass.) carded a final-round 79 and finished 30th with a three-day total of 244.
Duke captured its eighth consecutive ACC title with its final-round 277 and three-day total of 877, 25 strokes over par. North Carolina's Meaghan Francella claimed the individual crown with a two-over-par 215. She carded a two-under-par 69 in both the second and third rounds.
