Field Hockey's Infante Named ACC Player of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland's freshman field hockey player Paula Infante (Santiago, Chile) was selected Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week for the opening week of the season which was announced Monday.
In her first-career start, Infante scored two goals and assisted on another in the Terps' season-opening 8-0 victory over New Hampshire in Amherst, Mass. In Maryland's 7-0 win over Massachusetts, she tallied another goal and an assist. Infante also contributed to UM's defensive effort, allowing a combined three shots over the two games.
Maryland defeated Quinnipiac, 6-0, on Tuesday in the last of three games at Amherst, Mass. The Terps hit the road for the last time before a nine-game homestretch, traveling to Norfolk, Va., to play perennial power Old Dominion on Sept. 6.
