COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland sophomore Kimmy Francis (Richboro, Pa.) continues to pile up the awards this week. Coming off an Offensive MVP Performance at the Maryland/adidas Classic last weekend, Francis was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week on Thursday. She was named the ACC Player of the Week on Monday.
Francis, the Terps' leading scorer with five goals and 13 points, blasted home the game-winning goal as Maryland downed No. 23 Tennessee to capture the Maryland/adidas Classic last Saturday. She also assisted Katie Ludwig's game-winning goal in the 1-0 win over Loyola last Wednesday night at Ludwig Field.
Francis is the first Terp named to the Soccer America Team in 2003. Last season Audra Poulin and Lindsay Givens earned the honors.
The Terps led by Francis return to action on Friday night as they face ACC rival Florida State down in Tallahassee. The game will be televised live on Sunshine Network, which is available on DirecTV Channel 632 and Dish Network Channel 422.
