Updated Season Statistics
Top Terps
Junior outside hitter Maria DiLivio (Hamilton, Ontario) is leading the Terps in kills (80), kills per game (4.21), digs (59) and digs per game (3.11) and has been named to both the Maryland Invitational and the Doubletree Boca Bash all-tournament team. DiLivio's attack percentage, .326, ranks third on the team. Not far behind DiLivio's stellar statistics in 2003 is senior outside hitter Lynnsy Jones (Castro Valley, Calif.), who was named Most Valuable Player for her performance at the Doubletree Boca Bash. Jones compiled 32 kills (.433), 24 digs and nine service aces for the Terrapins in three victories in Boca Raton, Fla. Jones leads the team in aces with 10 and is averaging over three kills per game.
Super Sophomores
Middle blockers Rachel Wagener (Chesapeake, Va.) and Stephanie Smith (Bethesda, Md.) are providing a dynamic block for the Terrapins this season. Wagener's 30 total blocks and 1.5 block per game average lead the team, while Smith's five solo blocks this season are a team-high. Smith has 28 total blocks for the season (1.5 per game). The duo is also producing great attacking numbers, as Wagener boasts a .418 attack percentage and has 46 kills, and Smith has posted 42 kills in six matches.
And The Winner Is....
The winner for best all-around performance so far this season has to be junior setter Aimee Huddleston (Keller, Texas). The 5'10 first-year starter has 254 assists (12.7 per game) but has also contributed immensely to the Terrapins' block. She currently ranks second (along with Smith) with 28 blocks in six matches, and is averaging over a block a game. Huddleston has also amassed 36 digs, three service aces and 17 kills (.231).
DeFreitas, Top Libero Honors
