COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The fifth-ranked Terrapin field hockey team will have a special guest on the sidelines this weekend when its hosts ACC-rival No. 4 Duke on Saturday, Oct. 9. Maryland men's basketball coach Gary Williams will participate in a ceremonial pass back prior to the start of the game.
"It is an honor to have a coach of Gary's success with us on Saturday. We are looking forward to a special day with him," said Terrapin field hockey coach Missy Meharg. "It will be really exciting for the team, especially for this senior class who have been big supporters of men's basketball, to have Gary on the field with them."

"We are looking forward to playing ACC-level hockey. The team has worked very hard this week and we are anxious to set a marker and see where we are."
The game is the first home ACC game for Maryland who is 1-1 in the league standings heading into the weekend. The Terps will be looking to avenge their loss to the Blue Devils in the NCAA Tournament semifinals last year.
