COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Six Terrapins were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic All-Region team, which was announced today. Four Terps were selected to the first team, including junior midfielder Lauren Powley, who garners the recognition for the third-consecutive year.
Joining Powley (Mountaintop, Pa.) on the first team All-Region squad are sophomore Paula Infante (Santiago, Chile) and senior co-captains Kristin Harris (Lititz, Pa.) and Sara Silvetti (Wapwallopen, Pa.). Infante, a midfielder, is a repeat honoree while defenders Harris and Silvetti earn first team honors after being named to the second team last year.
Juniors Emily Beach (Bethesda, Md.) and Tiffany Marsh (Marathon, N.Y.) were voted to the second team. It is Beach's first appearance on the all-region squad. Marsh was named to the second team last year.
The Terps, who are ranked second and own a 17-5 record, are headed to the NCAA Tournament semifinals to face Wake Forest on Friday, Nov. 19. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start. The Demon Deacons are hosting the final four this weekend at Kentner Stadium. The championship game takes place Sunday, Nov. 21 at 12:30 p.m.
