WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - For the second-straight year, sophomore Paula Infante was named to the All-NCAA Field Hockey Tournament squad, while senior co-captains Kristin Harris and Sara Silvetti were selected to play in the North/South Senior All-Star game which was played on Saturday.
Infante (Santiago, Chile) ended the season as the team's goal leader with 14. In the first round of the NCAA Tournament, she scored a tournament-record five goals to lead the Terps to a 5-2 win over No. 14 Delaware. Infante was also selected to the ACC All-Tournament team and was an All-ACC and NFHCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region honoree.
Silvetti (Wapwallopen, Pa.) and Harris (Lititz, Pa.) were two of six ACC field hockey players selected to the all-star squad. Both played on the South team. Harris and Silvetti were four-year starters during their tenures as Terrapins, helping the team to the NCAA title game once and the tournament semifinals three times, including this season. Harris earned her first-career conference honor when she was picked All-ACC Tournament. Silvetti was named All-ACC, along with Infante.
Head coach Missy Meharg guided Maryland to its second-straight NCAA Tournament semifinal appearance and its fifth appearance in six seasons. The Terps also garnered a No. 2 national ranking in the final NFHCA Top 20 Coaches Poll.
