College Park, Md. - The University of Maryland women's soccer team found out Monday afternoon that it was one of 64 teams selected to play in the 2004 NCAA Tournament.
The Terps, 7-6-4 on the season, will play MAAC regular season and tournament champions Loyola, Md. (16-3-0), in the opening round at Penn State. The starting time was not announced.
Maryland is currently ranked fifth in the Mid-Atlantic region in the most recent NSCAA/adidas coaches poll, while Loyola sits in seventh place.
The Terps and the Greyhounds were scheduled to meet in the regular season, but the match was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The winner of the Maryland-Loyola game will meet the winner of the Penn State-Binghamton game in the second round.
