
No. 2 Maryland Field Hockey Will Host NCAA First and Second Rounds This Weekend

The No. 2 Maryland Terrapin field hockey team, coming off a runner-up finish in an ACC Tournament that featured the top four ranked teams in the country, will stay at home for this weekend's first and second rounds of NCAA Tournament play. The Terps will take on No. 14 Delaware in the first round, while No. 7 American and No. 11 Iowa will play in Saturday's second game. Tickets for the games are now available to purchase online or by calling the Comcast Center ticket office.
The Terps are set to play in the first of those games on Saturday, with action starting at 11:00 a.m. The day's second game between American and Iowa will follow shortly after, at 2:00 p.m.
Tickets for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex are now available to be purchased through the Comcast Center Ticket Office at 301.314.7070 or 800.462.TERP or online at www.umterps.com. Prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students (with ID), children and seniors. Tickets will also be sold one hour prior to the first game of each day at the field.
Fans attending the NCAA field hockey tournament games this Saturday will be directed to park in Regents Drive Garage due to a men's basketball exhibition game on campus the same afternoon. All lots surrounding the Comcast Center and Field Hockey & Lacrosse Stadium are permitted lots for men's basketball. Regents Drive Garage is located approximately 5 blocks from the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
Maryland, who moved up to No. 2 in the final NFHCA Top 20 poll of the season, owns a 17-10-2 record against first-round opponent, Delaware, including a 4-3 come-from-behind road victory earlier this season. In all, the Terps are 137-81-11 all-time against this year's tournament field, including a 6-5 record in 2004. The team will be making its 18th appearance in post-season play (17th NCAA appearance) and has won three national championships (1987, 1993 and 1999).
