College Park, Md. - Maryland junior midfielder Mallory Mahar continued to rack up post-season honors, being named to the NSCAA/adidas Division I All-Mid-Atlantic Second Team on Tuesday.
This is the third consecutive season Mahar has been named to the All-Mid-Atlantic team. The native of Medina, Ohio, was a third team selection in her freshman and sophomore seasons before being named to the second team this year. Mahar was also a first team All-ACC selection this season.
Mahar lead the Terps in points (22) and goals (9) and set a school record for game-winning goals by a junior with four. It was Mahar's ninth goal of the season that gave Maryland a 1-0 win over No. 2 seed Penn State in the NCAA Tournament to send the Terps into the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 1996.
