Rachel Wagener Earns AVCA All-Region Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Wednesday that Rachel Wagener has been named to its East All-Region Team. Wagener, a junior middle blocker from Chesapeake, Va., earns the distinction for the first time in her career after becoming the Terrapins' all-time leading blocker in 2004.
Wagener finished the season with a .327 attack percentage and averaged over 2.6 kills per game and 1.36 blocks per game in 2004. Only a junior, she is already the school record-holder for block assists in a season (177 in 2003, also an Atlantic Coast Conference record) and career block assists (396). At this year's ACC Tournament, Wagener became Maryland's all-time leading blocker by surpassing the previous mark of 417. Through three seasons, she has 452 total blocks.
Wagener is also a two-time second team All-ACC selection.
