Terps in Fifth at Florida Golf Tourney

MIAMI, Fla. - Marie Harper of Maryland fired a second-round 75 Monday to lead the Terrapins to fifth place in the team standings after 36 holes of the Miccosukee Championship women's golf tournament being hosted by Florida International University.
Harper was in ninth place after the first two rounds of the 54-hole event with a total of 156. Teammate Katie Redeker also was in the top 10 after two rounds, scoring 79-78 for a 157 total.
As a team, Maryland went 321-317 for a total of 638. The Terps were only six shots behind third-place Michigan and three strokes behind host Florida International.
Florida Atlantic led the team standings at 613, holding a 14-shot lead over SMU. Laura Cross of SMU opened with a 2-under-par 71 and followed with a 76 to take the individual lead at 147. She led by two strokes over Natalia Navarro of Florida Atlantic.
Also for the Terrapins on Monday, Kristen (Shew) McCurdy shot identical rounds of 81 to tie for 32nd at 162, Katie Stepanek was tied for 36th at 80-83--163 and Jessica Reno shot 89-83--172 to tie for 57th.
