WILMINGTON, N.C. - Senior Katie Redeker finished in a tie for fifth place, posting the Terrapins' best individual finish of the 2003-04 women's golf season thus far, in leading Maryland at the UNC Wilmington Lady Seahawk Invitational, which ended Tuesday.
Redeker finished at 230 in the 54-hole event, leading the Terrapins to a fifth-place finish in the 14-team field. She had rounds of 75 in the first and third rounds, while scoring an 80 in the second round on Monday.
She finished just two strokes behind individual medalist Becky Berzonski of UNC Wilmington, who won a playoff with Lauren Smith of Augusta State after they tied with a three-round total of 228.
As a team, Maryland finished with a 314 on Tuesday, earning a 54-hole total of 955. The host Seahawks won the team championship at 934, two shots better than Campbell University.
