
Maryland Drops Water Polo Match To Bucknell, 11-3

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's water polo team lost to Bucknell Sunday afternoon 11-3 at the Campus Recreation Center Natatorium in College Park.
Junior Colleen McShane (Chicago, Ill.) scored two goals for the Terps to go along with a team-best five steals. The goals were McShane's third and fourth on the day, as she scored two in the first half of the doubleheader, a 17-7 loss to Princeton. She is now tied with senior Elyse Corwin (Orinda, Calif.) for the team lead. Senior Laura Nolan (Towson, Md.) had Maryland's other score, the first goal of the game, and added three steals. Nolan scored the Terps' first goal against Princeton, as well.
Sophomore goalie Marissa Corwin (Orinda, Calif.) had seven saves while giving up all 11 of Bucknell's goals. She also had two steals. Corwin had 11 saves and two steals against Princeton.
Elyse Corwin and senior Sarah Wahba (Crofton, Md.) each had one assist for the Terps, who fell to 0-4. Corwin also had a steal, while sophomore Allison Kuzniar (St. Charles, Ill.) had two.
The Terps have two-and-a-half weeks off before returning to the pool March 24 for a rematch against George Washington. The game starts at 7 p.m. at the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, D.C. In their first meeting of the season, Maryland lost to the Colonials 8-1 in the Terps' inaugural game.
