Maryland Water Polo Heads To Southern Division Championships

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's water polo team travels to Villanova, Pa., this weekend for the Southern Division Championships. The Terps (0-8) are the fifth seed and will face fourth-seeded Villanova at 1 p.m. and top-seeded Princeton at 4 p.m. Saturday.
The five teams are split into two groups, with the Tigers, Wildcats and Terps in Bracket A, and second-seeded George Washington and third-seeded Bucknell in Bracket B. Princeton takes on Villanova in the first game, and the Colonials and Bison battle in the second before Maryland's two games.
The second-place team in Bracket A will play the winner of the George Washington/Bucknell match in Game 5 at 7 p.m., while the third-place team takes on the loser of the Colonials/Bison match in Game 6 at 8:15 p.m. The winner of Bracket A automatically advances to the championship game to take on the winner of Game 5 at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Meanwhile, the winner of Game 6 will face the loser of Game 5 in a battle for third-place at 10 a.m., and the loser of that game will play the loser of Game 6 for fourth place at 1 p.m.
