
Redeker Among Top 20 at ACC Women's Golf

CLEMMONS, N.C. - Katie Redeker fired a 77 on Saturday for a 36-hole total of 151, tying for 19th place after the second round of the 2004 Atlantic Coast Conference women's golf championship.
Redeker, a Terrapin senior, led the Terps after two rounds of the 54-hole event. Junior Kristen McCurdy had Maryland's best round of the day, firing a 75 to tie for 25th at 155. Senior Marie Harper was in a tie for 23rd at 153 after a 79 on Saturday.
As a team, Maryland shot a 308 and was in seventh place with a 614 total after two rounds. The Terrapins are battling Virginia for the sixth spot, and the Cavaliers enter Sunday's final round three strokes ahead of the Terps.
Also for Maryland, freshman Jessica Reno was in 30th at 158 after posting a 77 on Saturday, while freshman Kate Stepanek is at 159 and tied for 31st after an 81 on Saturday.
Duke, which has four players in the top 11, shot a 286 as a team on Saturday for a 36-hole total of 565. The Blue Devils led North Carolina by 14 shots and Wake Forest by 17 heading into the final round.
North Carolina's Meaghan Fracella shot a 69 on Saturday for a 36-hole total of 135, holding her one shot lead over Duke's Brittany Lang. Katie Quinney of Florida State had the best round of the day, with her 67 moving her into third place at 139.
