
Maryland Women Tied for Sixth at Spider Spring Invite

GLEN ALLEN, Va. - Freshman Jessica Reno and senior Katie Redeker each shot 2-over-par rounds of 74 Saturday to lift Maryland two places into a tie for sixth in the team standings at the Spider Spring Invitational women's golf tournament being hosted by the University of Richmond.
Reno was in 18th place individually at 154 after 36 holes of the 54-hole event. She was one of three Terrapins among the top 20 after two rounds, as Redeker and Marie Harper were in a tie for 19th at 155. Only four players in the entire field had better rounds than Reno and Redeker's 74.
Maryland shot a 304 on Saturday, tying for the best second-day team score in the field. The Terps have a two-day total of 622, tying NC State and just two shots behind Longwood. UNC Wilmington also shot a 304 on Saturday, taking the team lead with a 36-hole total of 601 and surpassing first-day leader James Madison, which was two shots back at 603.
Individually, Amelie Farrah of UNC Wilmington held onto the lead, posting a 143 total after 36 holes. She led teammate Becky Berzonski by three shots after the first 36 holes.
Also for the Terps, Harper shot 79 on Saturday, Kristen McCurdy fired a 77 for a two-day total of 158 and a tie for 28th place, while Kate Stepanek was 34th at 160 after a 79 on Saturday.
