EDGEWATER, Md. - Donnie Neuenberger, driver of the Moy Racing #77 NASCAR Busch Series Car which is sponsored by the University of Maryland, will take a medical leave of absence due to being diagnosed and starting treatment for Follicular Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Neuenberger has said he hopes to return to the track by mid-July with the Maryland car. Although other drivers will drive the #77 car in his absence, no one will represent the University in the Busch Series until his return.
"I am very fortunate to have such great people around me and recognize I am very lucky," Neuenberger said. "There are a lot of people worse off than I am. I want to thank my race team, friends, sponsors and fans for their support and understanding. I look forward to getting back to the race track, the team and driving."
