
Former Terp Tagliente Named to NCAA 25th Anniversary Field Hockey Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Former Terrapin Carla Tagliente was named to the NCAA Division I 25th Anniversary Field Hockey Team, which was recently announced. Tagliente is Maryland's all-time leading scorer.
This year, the NCAA is celebrating the 25th anniversary of women's championships and will name a 25th anniversary team for each sport and division to mark the milestone.
One of Maryland's two four-time All-Americans, Tagliente helped the Terps capture their third NCAA title in 1999 and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team that same year. A Marathon, N.Y., native, she is Maryland's all-time leading scorer, collecting 187 points over her career from 1997-2000. She also scored a school-record 73 goals during that time.
The 25th anniversary team was voted on by fans on through www.ncaasports.com.
The Third-ranked Terrapins take a short break and are back in action for the ACC Field Hockey Tournament which will be hosted by the University of Maryland, Nov. 3, 4 and 6. Tickets can be purchased through www.umterps.com or at the Comcast Center Ticket Office.
