The Maryland women's water polo team travels to Salem, W.Va., this weekend for two league games. The Terps take on Collegiate Water Polo Association Southern Division rival Princeton at 2:30 p.m. and division foe Salem International at 8 p.m.
Maryland (3-8, 0-1 Southern Division) is coming off an 0-3 showing at last weekend's Terrapin Invitational. The Terps lost their first league game to Bucknell, 10-3, on Friday before falling to George Washington, 6-3, and Navy Aquatic Club, 9-4, on Saturday. The Terrapins notched their first win in program history over Marist at the season-opening Bucknell Invitational Feb. 13.
Senior Elyse Corwin (Orinda, Calif.) leads the Terps in scoring and is tied for 17th in the nation with 19 goals. She has scored in 10 of Maryland's first 11 games, though she had her nine-game scoring streak snapped against George Washington last weekend.
Her sister, junior goalie Marissa Corwin (Orinda, Calif.), ranks fifth in the country with 91 saves through 11 games, an average of 8.3 per game.
Senior Colleen McShane (Chicago, Ill.) is second on the team with seven goals scored, followed by senior Juli Jordan (Springfield, Va.) with six. McShane also leads the team with 12 steals, followed by freshman Allie Houseal (Harleysville, Pa.), who has nine.
No. 19 Princeton is coming off a 2-3 showing at last weekend's Gaucho Invitational. The Tigers are 9-4 on the season. Salem International went 0-3 at the Terrapin Invite.
