SALEM, W.Va. -
The Maryland women's water polo team notched the program's first Southern Division victory Saturday with a 14-8 win over Salem International in Salem, W.Va. Earlier in the day, the Terps fell to No. 19 Princeton 16-2.
Senior Elyse Corwin (Orinda, Calif.) scored four goals against Salem International to bring her team-leading total to 23. Seniors Juli Jordan (Springfield, Va.) and Colleen McShane (Chicago, Ill.) and junior Rebecca Kadushin (College Park, Md.) each notched a hat trick, while freshman Kacie Owens (Annapolis, Md.) and junior Jenna Nader (Canonsburg, Pa.) each had one goal.
Sophomore goalie Stacy Glantz (Roslyn, N.Y.) earned her first start, registering seven blocks while allowing all eight Salem goals.
In the Terps' first game of the day, Owens and McShane accounted for Maryland's two goals.
The Terrapins (4-9, 1-2 Southern Division) return to the pool Tuesday to take on division rival George Washington at 7 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
