Three water polo recruits who committed to play at Maryland in 2006 have been selected to the Northeast Zone team. Ashleigh Jobson, Blaise Stanicic and Christen Vagts will compete for spots on the U.S. Junior National team at the national team selection camp in Salt Lake City May 28-31.
The Northeast Zone team is made up of players from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.
The team will compete against squads from the 10 other zones that comprise USA Water Polo, the sport's national governing body.
Jobson, Stanicic and Vagts are teammates at the Navy Aquatic Club in Annapolis. Jobson and Stanicic were also members of the national youth team this summer.
