BALTIMORE, Md. -
Southwest Airlines recently unveiled Maryland One, a Bowing 737-700 coated in 60 gallons of red, yellow, black and white paint designed for the Maryland state flag.
The plane is the latest specialty plane in the Southwest Airlines fleet that includes five other state flag-themed planes, according to a story in the Baltimore Sun.
The plane will apparently fly on regularly scheduled flights at BWI. According to the story, the plane was adorned with the flag in Seattle and took 512 man-hours to paint.
BWI has become the third-busiest hub for Southwest Airlines, The Sun noted. Arizona and Nevada, with the two largest hubs, also have state flag-themed planes.
