POSITION VACANCY

POSITION TITLE: Assistant Coach - Baseball

DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics

CATEGORY: Full-time, Non-tenured Faculty (100112)

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the head coach with the organization, development and implementation of a competitive, Division I baseball program. University of Maryland Baseball competes in the prestigious Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and has captured 3 ACC championships, 2 ACC players-of-the-year, and 6 All-Americans. Games are played at Shipley Field, located right in the heart of the Maryland campus with a seating capacity of 2,500. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, scouting, recruiting, coaching, practice and game scheduling, the administration of team budgets, and fund-raising. Develop and maintain effective interaction with students, colleagues, university staff, alumni and the general public. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, ACC and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to full academic development of student-athletes are essential. Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Must have at least 2-3 years experience as a pitching coach at the collegiate level or higher. Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Candidates should have administrative and organizational experience as well as computer skills.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
