Field Hockey To Hold Open Scrimmage Sunday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The 2005 NCAA semifinalist Maryland field hockey team invites fans to watch the Red/White Scrimmage on Sunday, Aug. 21 at 4 p.m. The intra-squad scrimmage will take place at the state-of-the-art Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
The Terps reported to preseason camp on August 11 and have been participating in two-a-days, conditioning and strength training since arriving on campus. Maryland also traveled down to face the U.S. Developmental group in Virginia Beach, Va., earlier this week to take on outside competition for the first time.
Maryland returns eight starters from last season's squad that reached the NCAA Tournament semifinals, including first team All-Americans Paula Infante and Lauren Powley. The Terps hit the road to open the 2005 campaign on Saturday, Aug. 27 against Northwestern.
