
Women's Soccer Beats #15 West Virginia 3-1 In Preseason Action

Morgantown, W.Va. - The University of Maryland women's soccer team defeated No. 15 West Virginia 3-1 at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium Saturday evening in a preseason scrimmage.
All-American Mallory Mahar opened the scoring with a header off a corner kick from Kimmy Francis.
Mahar returned the favor by assisting Francis' goal to extend the Terrapin lead to 2-0.
Sophomore Nataly Arias capped the scoring with a 30-yard blast past rhe WVU keeper. Mahar and Francis each picked up another assist on Arias' goal.
Deana Everrett scored for the Mountaineers to finish the scoring.
The Terps open the 2005 regular season this coming Friday, August 26, vs. Towson at Ludwig Field in College Park.
