POSITION VACANCY
POSITION TITLE: Assistant Video Director
DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics
CATEGORY: Full-time, Contingent Category II
RESPONSIBILITIES: Primarily responsible for coordinating video needs of women's basketball, including opponent cutups, self-scout cutups, taping and dubbing of practice, taping television games, producing highlight videos, etc. Additional responsibilities include supervising, training, and scheduling video intern and student video assistants to ensure the video needs of Olympic sports are being met, including primarily men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, and field hockey. Manage numerous video projects (footage acquisition, shooting, writing, editing, etc.) including motivational videos, season highlight videos, recruiting videos, interviews, etc., as assigned. Assist outside contractor with game day video production. Oversee maintenance of all video equipment throughout the athletic department. Order and maintain video supplies. Assist Video Director with any duties as assigned. Will be required to work non-standard hours and travel to numerous athletic and related events.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience working with Betacam, mini-DV, and DV equipment, including cameras and editing decks; field acquisition of athletic events, either coaches angle or tight footage; experience using computer-based, non-linear (Avid Sports Pro / Avid Xpress) and linear (LSVE or STVE) editing packages; SportTech editing system; Macintosh brand hardware and software, including OSX operating system, G4 laptop computers, RAID arrays and X-Serve server units; ability to wire video inputs and outputs on remote video shoots; experience in producing and editing projects, such as motivational and season highlight videos; experience in producing and editing projects for websites; experience in managing several projects at once.
