Powley and U.S. Juniors Come-From-Behind to Top Host Chile

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Senior All-American Lauren Powley and the U.S. Junior National Team continue their success at the Junior World Cup. The Americans battled back from a 1-0 deficit and scored three unanswered goals en route to a 3-1 victory over host Chile.

The United States continues to surprise the field hockey community, remaining undefeated in Santiago, Chile. Powley (Mountaintop, Pa.), who played for the U.S. National Senior Team over the summer, has started every game at the Junior World Cup.

In the first round of pool play, the U.S. defeated England, 4-2, then earned a draw against the top-seeded team in the tournament, the Netherlands, 2-2. The team then followed up with a crushing 14-0 victory over Zimbabwe.

The U.S. next faces Australia on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m., then faces Spain on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 4 p.m.
