
Wilk Among Friday's Hall of Fame Inductees

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Jessica Wilk, who was a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference's 50th Anniversary teams in field hockey and women's lacrosse, is one of six Terrapin greats who will be inducted into the Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 30.
Also being inducted are Paul McNeil (wrestler), Tom Cosgrove (football), Walt Williams (men's basketball), Deanna Tate (women's basketball) and joe f. blair (former sports information director).
Wilk was a three-time All-American in field hockey at Maryland from 1986 through 1988 and was named Most Valuable Player of the 1986 ACC Tournament. She was a member of the Terrapins' NCAA Championship team in 1987.
Her field hockey career also included appearances at U.S. Olympic Festivals in 1989 and 1990.
She also played two seasons of lacrosse for Maryland (1989 and 1990), earning All-America honors in 1990, as the Terps reached the national finals in each season.
Following her collegiate lacrosse career, Wilk was a member of the United States' World Cup teams in 1993, 1997, 2001 and 2005, helping the U.S. win gold medals in three of those four competitions.
The 2005 Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremonies will be held at the campus' Inn and Conference Center on Sept. 30. Tickets for the black-tie optional event are $75 and can be purchased by contacting the M Club at 301-314-7020 or 301-314-5372.
