
Rachel Wagener Named ACC Volleyball Player Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Terrapin volleyball player Rachel Wagener was named this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week after helping Maryland win the Courtyard by Marriott Ft. Meade Invitational title and being named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
The Terps began the season with a 3-1 victory over Marshall, led by Wagener who hit an impressive .692 with 20 kills and four blocks. In a three-game sweep of Rutgers, the Chesapeake, Va., native registered a hitting percentage of .476 with 11 kills and seven blocks. In the title clinching match against Texas-Arlington, Wagener led Maryland to a 3-0 victory with 14 kills and seven blocks.
Over Maryland's ten games, Wagener averaged 1.80 blocks per game, while recording a hitting percentage of .527.
The Terrapins are back in action this weekend, when they travel to Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Invitational.
