Terrapin Sports Marketing, the exclusive marketing and multi-media rights partner of University of Maryland Athletics, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of:
Senior Account Executive, Sales
3+ years of increasingly responsible experience in sponsorship sales, preferably with a major Division 1 university and/or rightsholder, is preferred. Proven success cultivating & closing fully integrated corporate partnerships required. Successful candidate should display exceptional strategic selling skills including identification of qualified leads, creative solution development, written and oral presentation, sales cycle management, tactical planning, and closing.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
ü Maximize revenue within a less is more philosophy that maintains the collegiate atmosphere and adheres to university standards
ü Develop personal sales plan to meet and/or exceed annual sales goals
ü Research, prospect, develop, and close new business
ü Create and present customized sponsorship proposals
ü Work with Account Executive, Client Services on client contract fulfillment, execution, annual review, and renewal
ü Preparation of annual account recap for client
ü Serve as lead contact with major clients
ü Entertain and cultivate sponsor relationships in various settings
ü Travel for client presentations or cultivation
ü Attend athletic contests on weekends & weeknights, as well as evening coaches' radio shows
ü Train and retain TSM sales staff
ü Manage client cultivation and fulfillment expenses
ü Complete all reports on a timely basis
ü Represent Viacom Sports and TSM in a professional manner
