GREENSBORO, N.C. -
Maryland's Susie Rowe was tabbed Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Co-Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. The honor the first for the sophomore defender who shares the honor with Wake Forest's Chelsea Cipriani.
Hailing from London, England, Rowe scored goals in each of Maryland's wins last week. She tallied the final goal in the 5-1 win over 19th-ranked American last Wednesday. She then netted the only goal in Terps' 1-0 victory over conference-rival and No. 7 North Carolina on Sunday, helping the Terrapins clinch at least a share of the ACC's regular-season title. The shutout over UNC was Maryland's eighth shut out of the season.
Rowe is the second Terp to garner the weekly award this season, following freshman Nicole Muracco's (Sewell, N.J.) three selections. Muracco had won the award in three of the past four weeks.
Maryland closes out the regular season this week hosting Appalachian State on Friday, October 27. All home games are played at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Admission and parking to the event is free.
