
Jade Brown Named To All-ACC Volleyball Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland women's volleyball player Jade Brown was selected to the All-ACC Second Team today, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced. This is the third-consecutive season Brown has been named for an ACC honor.
The ACC's selection committee is comprised of the conference's 12 coaches. Eighteen players were named to the First and Second-Team All-ACC and six to the Freshmen team.
This season, Brown posted double-digit kills in 25-of-31 matches, while also registering double-digit digs in 16 matches, bringing her season total of double-doubles to 16. The outside hitter recorded a .218 hitting percentage and led the team in kills (3.81 kpg) and solo blocks (16). She added 274 digs (2.45 dpg) and 90 total blocks (0.80 bpg) for the Terps.
For her career, Brown surpassed her 1,000th career-kill in the contest against NC State (Nov. 24), and set a new career-high of 27 kills in the final match of the year against North Carolina (Nov. 25). The outside hitter holds career-highs of 17 digs and eight blocks.
Brown is now ranked sixth on Maryland's record list for total attacks (2,751) and eighth on the career-record list for kills (1,030). After her efforts this season, she is eighth on the single-season list for kills (427) and total attacks (1,127).
The Atlanta, Ga. native was also named to the All-ACC Second Team last season and was selected to the 2004 All-ACC Freshmen Team.
