MIAMI, Fla. - Kelly Calkin shot rounds of 73 and 72 to tie for second individually and lead University of Maryland finishers Tuesday after the opening 36 holes of the Pat Bradley Women's Golf Championship hosted by Florida International University.

Calkin was two shots behind individual leader Lisbeth Meineke of Georgia State, who opened with a 70 on the par-73 layout at the Miccosukee Golf and Country Club. Calkin matched her career-best 72 in Tuesday's second round after playing solid golf throughout the day.

Maryland's Kelly McWhinnie was tied for ninth overall after the first two rounds. She shot 74 and 75 on Tuesday for a 3-over total of 149. MacWhinnie, a junior from Pittsburgh, usually plays in the No. 5 spot for the Terrapins.

As a team, Maryland was tied for fifth with a total of 610. The Terps shot rounds of 301 and 309 in the opening two rounds of the 54-hole event. Augusta State led after Monday's play with a 599 total, three shots better than Brigham Young and eight shots better than host FIU.

Georgia State was fourth at 609, one shot better than Maryland and Washington State. Denver was in seventh at 613.

Also for Maryland on Tuesday, Kate Stepanek was tied for 39th at 157, while Jessica Reno was tied for 64th at 161 and Katie Trotter finished two rounds at 162 and tied for 70th overall.

The Pat Bradley Women's Golf Championship concludes on Wednesday with a shotgun start scheduled for 8 a.m.
