Maryland Gymnastics scored a season-high 194.15 team total Sunday and swept all four events to defeat Temple (186.125). The Terps honored seniors Alex Gatch, Rachel Martinez, Mandy Pascual and Rebecca Ruppert on Senior Day. Rachel Colon notched season highs on four events and tied a season high on uneven bars. Maryland improves to 9-6 on the season and 6-1 at home.
Martinez paced the Terps on vault with a first-place finish (9.85). Colon finished second with a season high 9.825. Ruppert also scored a season high (9.8), finishing third overall. Angie Ferg (9.625) tied for fourth place and the Terps scored a team total 48.7 for first place on the event.
Pascual and Colon tied for first place on uneven bars with a 9.75. Gatch notched a 9.675 for third place and Gretchen Kittelberger scored a 9.6 for sixth place. The Terps won the event with a team total 48.25.
Maryland scored a season high 48.3 on balance beam for first-place overall. Leading the way for the Terps was Colon who scored a season-high 9.85 for first place. Gatch finished second with a 9.775. Kim Loew and Ferg tied for third place with a 9.625.
The Terps scored a season high 48.9 on floor exercise and placed first through fifth place on the event. Martinez tallied a season high 9.925 for first place. Colon notched her third season-high (9.825) score of the meet for second place. Loew added a career-best 9.775 for third place. Ferg finished fourth with a 9.725 and Morgan Fishbein totaled a 9.65 for fifth-place overall.
Colon finished first overall in the all-around with a season-high score of 39.25. Martinez finished second with a 37.925.
Maryland travels to Towson, March 4 at 7 p.m. for a tri-meet with the Tigers and the William and Mary Tribe.
