Water Polo Falls to No. 3 UCLA

March 25, 2006

LOS ANGELES, Calif.- Despite holding UCLA scoreless for the first four minutes of the game, the Terrapins eventually fell to the No. 3 Bruins 18-3.

The Bruins "were smart, fast, and able to take advantage of any mistake we made on the offensive end and turn them into goals for them" said Maryland head coach Carl Salyer. Nevertheless, he was pleased with his team's effort to protect the ball, and described the game as "a learning experience."

Elizabeth Hopkins, Blaise Stanicic, and Juli Jordan contributed the goals for the Terps.

Ashleigh Jobson saved five and Anna Gossett saved one in goal.

Maryland's record is now 14-6. Tomorrow the Terps will face San Diego State in Irvine, California.
