Terrapin Club Announces 2006 Referral Contest

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland Terrapin Club has announced the 2006 Referral Contest to begin April 1st and run through June 30th, 2006. Last year's referral contest was a great success with the addition of over 400 new members. With the $50 Bronze giving level introduced last year, it is now even easier to get your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to support the exceptional student-athletes within Maryland Athletics. Prizes will be awarded to the top referrers in two categories: (1) most members referred, and (2) highest amount of donations generated through referrals. A complete listing of prizes can be found below.
Rick Jaklitsch, winner of the 2005 contest for most members referred, stated "The Prize was Terp fantasy camp! I flew with my 10 year old son first class to the Florida State game with the football team, stayed in the team hotel and bussed with the team to the game. The only person who had a better time than my son was me!"
In addition to the prizes awarded to the top referrers, any Terrapin Club member who refers a new member during the contest period will receive a fleece travel blanket with a Maryland logo, in appreciation for their support of our membership goals. The referring member will also receive the benefit of additional Terpoints based on the new member's initial gift.
Lee Canby, who generated the greatest amount of donations in last years contest, stated "As a result of winning the contest I had the pleasure of inviting 16 guests to view a Maryland basketball game from the Terrapin Club Luxury Suite in the Comcast Center. My friends and clients had a great time cheering the Terps on to victory!"
The Terrapin Club is composed of approximately 8,400 members who financially support the University of Maryland's athletic scholarship fund. The contest is a great way for current members to promote the Terrapin Club and encourage friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to support the exceptional student-athletes within Maryland Athletics.
