POSITION VACANCY

 

POSITION TITLE:               Assistant/Associate AD for Sports Marketing

                                               

DEPARTMENT:                   Intercollegiate Athletics

 

CATEGORY:             Full-time, Exempt (100137)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Develops and implements comprehensive marketing and promotions plans to significantly increase revenue and attendance for the Athletics Department.  Coordinates activities with the athletics ticket and development offices, with an emphasis on quality control as related to customer service, ticket purchases and athletics donors.  Develops and coordinates special events, including Midnight Madness and Spring Football Game.  Supervises a full-time staff of three and a student workforce.  Responsible for managing an annual budget of approximately $1 million.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.  Minimum of five years of marketing experience in a major NCAA Division I athletic program or related marketing environment.  A successful candidate will possess direct marketing experience and in-depth knowledge of the Washington/Baltimore market or similarly competitive metropolitan market. Prefer individual with success and proven ability to lead a marketing unit.  Demonstrated success in marketing and sales for football and women's basketball is preferred.

 

SALARY:  Commensurate with experience.
