
Jade Brown Named Co-ACC Volleyball Player of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Jade Brown was named Co-Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, the ACC announced today. This is the first ACC Player of the Week honor for the junior outside hitter. Virginia's Sarah Kirkwood was the other recipient.
Brown led the Terrapins to a second-place finish at the Holiday Inn Express Tournament at Stony Brook University. She posted a team-high 20 kills twice against No. 17 Ohio and host Stony Brook, recording a .328 hitting percentage for the weekend, and averaging 4.58 kills per game. She was named to the all-tournament team.
The Atlanta, Ga. native also led the team in digs (3.00 dpg) and notched five solo blocks in the match against Ohio. Brown finished the tournament with three double-doubles, increasing her total to five on the season.
The junior outside hitter leads all Terrapins with 102 kills (.309 hitting percentage) and 71 digs (2.96). After six matches, she has 12 blocks and seven service aces.
Brown was also named the Most Valuable Player of the TIS Bookstore Invitational at Indiana University last weekend.
Maryland will host Florida International, Long Island University and UCLA at the Hilton Garden Inn Greenbelt Invitational in College Park this weekend.
