Game No. 400
• The first-ever meeting between Stony Brook and Maryland will have historical significance. The match will be the 400th women's soccer game in the 20-year history of the program.

Scouting The Seawolves
• Stony Brook comes into College Park for the first time boasting a 4-1-1 mark on the season.

• The Seawolves won their first three games of the season on the road before suffering their first loss - a 1-0 decision to Central Connecticut at home on Sept. 1. Stony Brook rebounded from that defeat with a 2-1 win over Towson on Sept. 8. The Seawolves have been off since Sept. 10 when they battled Providence to a 0-0 tie.

• Coach Sue Cortland is in her 22nd season at the helm of the Stony Brook program and has compiled a 156-203-32 (.440) mark during her tenure.

Scouting The Patriots
• George Mason holds a record of 3-2-1 through its first six games. The Patriots travel to Annapolis, Md., to take on the Midshipmen of Navy on Friday before hosting the Terps on Sunday.

• Mason opened the season with a 1-1 tie at Virginia Tech and followed that up with home wins over Coastal Carolina (4-1, Aug. 27) and Georgetown (2-0, Sept. 2). The Patriots then competed in the D.C. Invitational and finished the tournament with a 1-1 record, beating Georgetown 2-0 before losing 2-1 to American. Mason traveled to Charlottesville, Va., for the Virginia Soccer Classic and defeated Seton Hall 1-0 on Sept. 8. The Patriots fell to #25 Georgia on Sept. 10, but played the match without two of their starting midfielders who were held out of the match due to injury.

• Coach Diane Drake is in her third season at the helm of the Mason program and has compiled a 22-19-4 (.533) mark during her tenure. Overall, Drake is in her seventh season as a head coach and boasts a record of 67-64-10 (.511).

A Quick Look At The Terps
• Maryland is 2-3-1 after dropping a 1-0 decision to Loyola on Tuesday night at Ludwig Field.

• Nikki Resnick made 10 saves, but was helpless to stop a deflected shot dribble into the right corner of the goal in Maryland's 1-0 loss to the Greyhounds.

• After defeating #10 Tennessee 1-0 in the season opener, Maryland has managed to score in just one other game - a 6-0 rout of UMBC. The Terps are still outscoring their opponents by a 2-goal margin, 7-5, on the season, but have been outshot 94-85 in their first seven games.

• That shooting disparity becomes even wider in the second half of matches. Through seven games, Maryland is being outshot 54-39 in the second half and opponents have taken 19 cornerkicks to the Terps' one.

The Maryland-Mason Series
• This will be the 16th meeting between the Terps and the Patriots with Maryland holding a 9-5-1 advantage in the series. Maryland is undefeated vs. Mason since 1995 with a record of 8-0-1.

• The two teams first met in 1987 with Mason winning 4-0. The Terps and the Patriots met ever season from 1991 to 2003. In 1997 the squads faced-off twice with Maryland winning 3-0 during the regular season, but Mason ended the Terps season with a 2-1 win in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

• The last time the two programs played was 2003 with Maryland winning 2-0. In that victory, Ashly Kennedy scored her first collegiate goal to pick up the game-winner.

At Ludwig Field
• Since its opening in 1995, Ludwig Field has proved to be a tremendous home-field advantage for the Terps women's soccer team. All-time Maryland is 78-33-10 (.686) at Ludwig Field.

• Through the seasons, the Terps have had a knack for shutting teams out at Ludwig Field. Maryland has won 52 of its 78 games (67%) at Ludwig Field via shutout. Add in the six 0-0 ties the Terps have had at Ludwig Field and it totals 58 times that Maryland has shutout its opponent in 121 games (47.9%).

• All-time in ACC games at Ludwig Field the Terrapins are 20-16-6 (.548).

• In a 4-0 loss to No. 1 North Carolina last season, goalkeeper Nikki Resnick broke Riki-Ann Serrins five-year old record for saves in a game at Ludwig Field with 14 vs. the Tar Heels.

Playing The Best
• Once again in 2006, Maryland will play one of toughest schedules in the nation.

• The Terps take on seven teams ranked in the latest NSCAA poll including four of the top 10 teams. The Terps have faced No. 4 UCLA (L, 0-3/Aug. 27) and No. 10 Tennessee (W, 1-0/Aug. 25) at the Penn State Classic. They will host No. 2 Florida State (Oct. 5), No. 17 Duke (Oct. 14) and No. 21 Virginia (Oct. 22). Maryland will also travel to No. 5 North Carolina (Oct. 1) and No. 11 Wake Forest (Sept. 28). The Terps will also travel to Boston College (Oct. 27), which was ranked in the preseason and is currently receiving votes.

Beating The Best
• During seven of the past eight seasons, Maryland has at least one upset win or tie of a top-10 ranked team: 4-3 win at No. 9 Duke on Sept. 19, 1999 and a 2-1 victory over Clemson on Oct. 17, 1999; a 3-1 win over No. 4 Penn State on Aug. 29, 2000; a 1-0 overtime over No. 8 Clemson on Oct. 13, 2001 and a 1-1 tie at No. 2 North Carolina on Nov. 1, 2002. The Terps stunned No. 3 UCLA 2-1 at the Virginia Soccer Classic on Sept. 12, 2004. A month and a half later, Maryland beat No. 10 Duke 1-0 in overtime at Ludwig Field. The Terps topped all of those victories with a 1-0 shutout of No. 2 seed Penn State in the 2004 NCAA Tournament. The win also snapped the Nittany Lions 39-game home winning streak and was head coach Paula Wilkins' first-ever loss at Jeffrey Field. The Terps extended that streak in 2005 with a 2-1 upset of No. 8 Boston College on Oct. 29 at Ludwig Field. Jeffrey Field proved lucky for the Terps again in the 2006 season opener as they knocked off No. 10 Tennessee 1-0 at the Penn State Classic on Aug. 25.

Playing Overtime
• The Terps are no strangers to playing extra minutes. Since 2004, when the current Terps started at Maryland, the Terrapins have played in 15 overtime contests - going 3-4-8 (.467). So far this season Maryland has played in one OT game, a 0-0 tie with Towson on Sept. 2.

• Maryland played six overtime games in 2005, tying for the second most in team history with the 1988 team. That '88 squad was 1-3-2 in those six games, while the 2005 Terrapins were 1-2-3.

• The record for most overtime games in a single season belongs to the 2004 Maryland team, which played in eight overtime contests (2-2-4).
