COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Senior Jade Brown had 17 kills to lead four University of Maryland players in double figures in kills as the Terrapins ran their record to 8-0 in home matches this season with a 3-1 victory over Boston College in an Atlantic Coast Conference volleyball match played Tuesday at the Comcast Center Pavilion.

The Terrapins won their third straight match and improved to 13-6 overall and evened their league record at 5-5. The Eagles fell to 10-10 overall and 4-6 in the league.

Maryland won the opening game 30-26, but dropped the second game 22-30. After the break, the Terps finished the match with wins of 30-25 and 30-21 in the third and fourth games.

For Boston College, senior Kelsey Johnson led all players in the match with 27 kills, also adding 10 digs. Tori Thompson had 11 digs for the Eagles, who got five blocks from Abigail Hasebroock.

Maryland got a kill from Brittany Grove to lead a three-point stretch to take a 10-7 lead in the first game. The advantage stayed between two and six points the rest of the way, as the Terps ended the opener on a kill by Mary Beth Brown.

Four straight points by BC on the serve of Hasebroock gave the Eagles a 19-15 lead in game two they would never relinquish. The Eagles' extended the lead on strong hitting by Johnson, as she had three kills in the final four points to give BC a 30-22 win.

Maryland earned a 13-7 lead in the third game, but BC was able to pull even at 16-16. But Jade Brown started hitting well late in the game, and the Terps extended a 23-21 lead through the final points of game three.

The Terrapins had leads of 6-3, 10-3 and 16-6 early in the fourth game and went on to take the win. BC used a five-point run midway through to cut the deficit to 22-15, but a kill from Jade Brown ended the match.
